CTG.

IIRC that is one of the more amazing Swissotel options out there.

Never mind. That's a Sofitel.

I flew to GEG in 2004 for a wedding and got there for ~$300 from EWR via MSP. Not too horrible. I have no idea if it is still that competitive, but it is hard to really be annoyed at a $300 fare like that.

If I can get it that good, I'd be thrilled. Every time I've searched just for poops and giggles, I've gotten north of $600 on CO and ~$400 on WN via LAS.

Sounds like an amazing Honeymoon, CM. ^

Thanks, fellas. It'll be nice to get TATL lines on the Couples FM.

Off to lunch with aforementioned NCL...let's see if I can get a suite.

For those of you that have used the miles + co pay to upgrade to NRT on a July internary (out July 1 and in July 7) what has been the usually timeframe for the upgrades to clear. I know several have mentioned that the upgrades are hard on this route but just looking for some lose guidance here. Also should mention that from the seat map online it doesnt look like anyone is book upfront yet as only the bulkheads are reserved.

ALso is the mini cabin on the 777 the way to go? I have a march flight in the BF cabin and the mini one looks empty except for bulkhead saved seats.

Your post caused me to look into this. I found an interesting report:

...In reality, the tribe was charging another $50 on top of the $25 for each person. You read that right, 75 bucks a pop. The "Question Answerer" explained it to us:

"The investor wants to get his, that's the $25. But it's our land, and we don't get any of that $25, so we have to get ours too, you know?"

It seems what happened is that the tribe got trounced in the contract negotiation, and were left to come up with their own source of revenue. Now, to be completely honest, the $75 got you more than just the Skywalk. It got you a bus ride to the Skywalk, then to Guano Point, another nice view which also had a "buffet" meal, and then another bus to a ranch which had a petting zoo. Not that anyone had come to see any of those things, or to eat at a buffet.

The conversations were the same throughout the line. "That's a load of crap, but, we drove this far, might as well just do it." And most people did. So did we.

...We entered the "Visitor's Center" (a temporary building that smelled strongly of wood varnish) to learn that no cameras were allowed out on the actual skywalk. At best, you could walk to the door of the building, a couple hundred feet away, and take a shot from there. Then you'd have to check your camera in with security. They told us it was because "people were dropping their cameras and cracking the glass" and they did not want to be liable "if someone dropped their camera over the edge".
...

sbm12, a co-worker of mine has been telling me about a travel blog I need to check out because there are very interesting stories about Continental Airlines and mistake airfares. A few days ago he sent me an email alerting me to the NRT fare, but well after it was pulled. I replied that I already got in on it and asked him for the source of the travel blog. Today he replied, It was yours. ^

Oh wait this is FT , no city is off limits for the weekend :D

Well, Sydney does meet the "near a Park Hyatt" criteria, and no flight's too long in J or F. Will keep that under advisement, although my next vacation lengthy enough to go to Australia will be May or later.

:D :D :D
And I didn't post it until after it was pulled. Not worth it, IMO. I did email specific friends about it who I knew might take advantage, but no public posting until it is dead.

I was told no on the mini cabin when I asked a thousand posts back. I'm in 4E now (center pair) for the one that I did clear on. For my return flight I'm waitlisted. I'll take my chances and hope for the best up until the time of departure. Then again, I'm flying in 8 days (outbound) so there isn't a whole lot of time that I'll be anxious about it. There are only 8 seats open on the return flight so I'm not too confident on it actually clearing, especially as I'll be a silver at that point, but I'm hopeful.

So should this HHonors whore make the jump over to *wood?

I may redeem another SQ F flight , they have a 25 %-50% discount on redemptions for KF members.
I gave away all my pjs and need to replenish my toothbrush supply.

I am always a fan of sitting as far to the front as possible on the 772. Usually makes it quicker for them to pour me another glass of wine!

:)

It was on NW when I did it. That was back when I got 100% EQMs for those flights. ;)

I've never flown in the mini cabin — always up front in the main BF cabin. I prefer the larger cabin, as it's farther away from the lavatories and the crying kids in the Y bulkhead.
