This hasn't been a good weekend for baseball for me. Yanks playing like , and my friend's minor league team (who was in the Twin Cities this weekend) had two of their games rained out. :td:

I actually like Patterson's proposals, they are very level headed and will help a lot.

Wine in grocery stores, I can hear the NY box contingent cheering now :D

If the earlier flights take oversales you might be lucky in getting a bump, if the agents use your flight to rebook customer on. Be prepared for a completely full flight.

Is Monday when the cruise ship passengers fly home?

Thank you for the "reading." I thought the cruise ships arrive on Saturday and depart on Sunday (for 7 day cruises). I'll have to get there early enough to volunteer. I want to get home, but in the spirit of the 'Box, a VDB is one I can use. We're planning a trip to BOS in October.

Have to love the "technically you can't call us back because we've theoretically never left" component. Way to serve the constituents.

We're fighting the same political resistance in Tennessee at the moment. At least wine and liquor aren't ABC controlled here (just needs to be a separate store).

On a side note in NY I overheard that a carton of cigarettes now costs $125 with the new tax:eek:

CA ballot proposition coming up will legalize pot to tax it. It is being touted as the way CA will get its financial house in order. Except, that our budget deficit is about $25 billion and the pot tax will bring in (estimated) about $3 billion.

Kaleefornea wins on all counts on teh  scale. [OMNI P&R off]

Not me. Huge liquor store right next to the grocery store (shares the chain name) and prices are lower than almost any other place I've ever been^

:D All I remember about that game is cut the taxes and build an airport. Mayor Pena used that research to build DIA (aka DEN), I believe.

BTW, what did you think of the BBQ in Lockhart?

A tax isn't intended to change behavior when revenue to the government is expected to increase as a result of the action.

Loved it. Preferred the brisket at Kreuz and the sausage at Smitty's.
