Just got back after part 1 of my 20 year reunion. The majority of my class looks pretty good after all these years. I had not been to the Hard Rock Hotel w/ all the clubs outdoors. Very impressive. Off to bed. Good morning/night 'Box.

Cool!^ Nice that it's at the Hard Rock Hotel! Wait 'til your 25th or 30th reunion -- really interesting then!:D

Ummm, what kind of BlackBerry did YOU have?!? That's my main complaint about mine - the battery life is pretty awful, ESPECIALLY if you're using Google Maps, browsing the web, or using the Bluetooth headset.

I've had several — the original Pearl, the original Curve, the Curve 8900, and the crappy 8800 I still have for work. I've never had much battery issue with most of them, although the Curve 8900 was ridiculously short on the battery life when I first got it. Turning off the GPS except when I was using it helped that a lot — at least at the time, the BlackBerry OS either had the GPS always off, or always on, and that killed the battery. I've found that Android handles the GPS much better, turning it on only when needed, then immediately shutting it down.

My work BlackBerry will last for days on a single charge, but I don't use it for anything other than calls and e-mail.

The antenna in the phone makes a big difference too. The 2G BlackBerries, like all 2G smart phones, have much longer battery life than the 3G ones, as the 3G signal requires much more battery power.

I took it back to the Sprint store yesterday and they went through the phone to make sure nothing was draining the battery. They also did a test on the battery and told me everything was fine and that the phone is powerful and I shouldnt expect the battery to last all day. After much thought I decided to return it since I cant always be right next to a charger. I really liked the phone and all the features but the short battery life was a deal breaker.

The Nexus One and I had similar issues at first, but I've taken to keeping it plugged in to my computer to charge when at work, and I carry an extra battery for it in my bag just in case. It's rare I have an issue now. I don't haul a charger around with me since I can just plug it into the computer; in fact, I have a couple of 3" long micro-USB cables in my laptop bag that are perfect for charging the phone off a USB port on my laptop while at work.

On an average day, with the heavy use I give my phone, I can go 6-7 hours on a single charge and actually using the device before the battery gives up. Having a backup battery lets me double that if I'm in a situation where I'm not going to be able to plug it in at all, or I'm not carrying around a cable to charge it with.

I did not mind NJ Transit, though I am uniquely unqualified to offer an opinion. It was nicer than the Los Angeles subway system, and the double decker new train cars were as nice as those I used in San Diego.

And now, I must finish mowing. I can't tell you how enthused I am about that.

The new double deck trains are much nicer. Getting on one of the old single level trains when it's packed at the EWR station, and you've got luggage to deal with on a standing room only train, makes you realize that NJ Transit can often be about as pleasant as a train in a developing country.
