Teh angry pAAtrons seem to have made their way down to MGA. :-:

Aye. I think I would only replicate teh  for an excellent mistake fare to somewhere like West Africa, Central Asia, or New Caledonia/Cook Islands.

Hmmm, apparently today's PDX-IAH was lifetime flight No. 850.

Isn't it kind of early for you to be home?

Flights just shook out that way on this trip. Am doing the usual red-eye then straight to work for the Labor Day trip to ANC. :D

Skip Managua and head on out. MGA just like any CA city. Wish I had a chance to get out to Granada and the volcanos. So just like you won't be sleeping in the airports, I'm not taking any more one day trips to countries as beautiful as this (had an awesome view of the lake from my hotel room).

BTW, no lounge at the airport but they do have free internet.

You have any comments on Taca C?

I've only flown TACA Regional on ATRs within Honduras. No clue what their C service is like. I've heard that their seat is just a domestic F seat (probably not as nice as CO's, even). From what I've read, I wouldn't expect much.

Thanks. I'm honestly just happy I'm getting back to MIA today. I was ready to be stuffed into cattle class. Most other pax were relegated to tomorrow's AA flight. I had asked early to get protected on the Taca flight.

I wish I knew how many true lifetime flight miles I had. I determined, however, that if I go back through all my OnePass statements through 1999 when I first reached Silver on CO, I will be able to reconstruct my Flightmemory with over 95% accuracy (not including ship numbers and seat numbers). All my non-CO/NW/DL post-1998 flying has been accounted for, although the vast majority without ship numbers, which I tracked for awhile several years ago, then just started tracking again a bit more than a year ago. It is really time-consuming, though. Now, I log flights real-time, which is a much more efficient approach.

My lifetime BIS should be about 750k, though.

My new Aerogeek Goal is to haz flights to 49 U.S. states (excluding DE, which doesn't haz commercial service). Haz 33 so far.

Your description of the area sounds like the arctic analog of the bizzare and fascinating volcanic ash/old lava flow landscapes on the Big Island of Hawai'i. That's without regard to the other various other interesting landscapes that one finds there, such as green and black sand beaches, desert-like terrain just a few miles from lush, green pastures, and so on.

I am fairly behind in the "visiting every state department." I have flown quite a bit domestically for the past decade, but the vast majority has been repeat trips to the same cities/states, like to the West Coast, IAH, CLE, EWR, HNL, and a few other places. I am considering making the 49-state goal a priority in the next year or so. Really need to hit the Dakotas and a few of the Southern states I haven't been to. In addition, there are a few states to which I have driven but never flown.

I did it in May on non lieflat, and then lieflat on the return. I love the lieflat, and think PEK should also have it on top priority. The good news is that the chance of getting it are growing more and more slim!

I'm expecting even less. Looks like it's an Embraer 190. :-:
