Teh Wiki tells me that the airport is legally on Virginia land but is administered by Congress. That, boys and girls, is all one needs to know.

There must be something about that Houston Galleria area.

We had an awful experience at the Aloft there which has killed Franny's taste for those properties. One of these days I guess I will be able to persuade her to try one again, probably at an airport when we have an early flight.

I have a friend flying from FLL to EWR tomorrow and it seems that most of the flights, including his on CO1400 are showing Y0 A0 :) He would not mind a bump and another day in FLL.

Bad to wish for suburban quiet on a weekend since the neighbor apparently got tangled up with a chain saw. :(

that would be hilarious!

The question is how many boxers are getting invites, and will there be an open bar.

open bar = ^ When opsprof and I got married, we were pretty cheap about a lot of not-so-important things (centerpieces, some decor items, etc.) but were adamant about open bar. This, boys and girls, is what people remember with ^

On the flip side, I didn't even realize that my younger sister was having a (oh god, I hate to say it....) cash bar. I didn't bring my purse along and had to ask my dad for $$ so I could get a drink :td:

One of my not so close friends begged me to come to her wedding. I agreed and bought tickets to IAD, secured a hotel and rental car. After I did all of that she told me it was going to be a Mormon wedding with NO booze.

Isn't there now a standard disclaimer in all catering contracts that specifically limits the amount of Boxers at an open bar?

While I realize that alcohol lubricates many a party, it is still expensive.

I was recently in charge of organizing a society dinner in Washington, DC for about 70 people, some members of the society and others, guests. The members were paying for it (not the guests). Having done this same event in the past, we were blown away by the bar bill, which was almost twice the food bill. Of course, yours truly got the blow back from the members who had to pay for it (big time).

This year, I had a cash bar for the pre-dinner reception and wine for dinner, limited to a total of 20 bottles of a chosen red or white. I still got blow back for not having an open bar (but much less) and still managed to limit the damage to each member for the dinner to about $80pp. This was for dinner with six entree choices, appetizers salad, sides and dessert and wine and included all the service charges. (This was at a Morton's style steakhouse). The food and service was outstanding.
I suspect that I will get little grief when I send out the bills to everyone ;)
