There is no heat in AUS today. Here in HOU, I have my windows open! The weather is gorgeous - low 80s and low humidity.^
ETA: Just check the weather in Austin, and it is 69 degrees! High of 78 predicted! I'd rather be in an airport anyway... :p At least the Mister will have a good day. |
Howdy, Box. Much fun last night here in Philly. We made it in earlier than expected so we showed up at the rehearsal diner for this wedding; we didn't expect to get here in time so we just crashed it. Good stuff. Then on to drinking at Mcgillans (sp?), apparently the oldest continuously operating pub in town.
Great morning here, too. Train day was way too crowded but the art museum steps were fun. Now nap time in advance of the late night expected tonight. |
One of the other guys in my office is giving me hell for not chasing the ladies. I can't seem to make him understand: that (a) playing four women at one time is not my thing; and (b) I don't see the ROI on chasing women at this point.

And, slightly off that question, what can, or do, you do with your weapon when traveling? |

Pretty much -- the catch is with doing SDCs is making sure the coupons match up (sfogate might be to expand on this) with AA and CO, not sure about UA.
Anyways in my case I had two coupons for my one-way fare: AUS-DFW (1) and DFW-MCO (2). I *think* that when AA and CO do a SDC, the easiest way - and the way the agents prefer - is to simple associate the coupons to new flights without creating additional ones. In other words as I had two coupons I had two flights (duh) and the easiest way for AA to process the SDC would simple be to put in two, as oppose to one, three, four, etc. other flights as any creation (or deletion?) of coupons requires the ticket to be reissued. AUS-DFW (1) >>> DFW-ORD And when it comes to reissuing tickets, it seems most agents will clam up or suddenly start to pay much more attention to the rules.DFW-MCO (2) >>> ORD-MCO ...requires no reissue AUS-DFW(1) >>> AUS-LAX DFW-MCO (2) >>> LAX-MIA ******** (*) >>> MIA-MCO ...would require a reissue In Austin the AAgents were more than willing to let me bounce through ORD (AUS-ORD-MCO) as I'm *assuming* they did not have to reissue the ticket. When I pushed for my AUS-LAX-MIA-MCO route I'd need an extra coupon, hence a reissue, hence the agents hesitation as the routing I was proposing was not within the original rules of the fare. The good news - and what saved my bacon - was the vast and sweeping powers GA's have in the system. Only at the gate was I able to convince the agent to change the routing, and the only reason she agreed to it was, "we're really not suppose to let you, but we can bend the rules for an EXP." (and an employee appreciation cert might have helped sway her.) Bottom line -- when you're trying to create coupons, (and are not flying UA) you've gotta reissue the ticket - and that means you've got to have an ace up your sleeve (like the SDC) to avoid a reprice and be working with a cool agnet. |

I just opened a package of Nabisco cookies and several of them have chips of black plastic or paint on the bottom of them. Lovely.

You've piqued my curiosity, sir: a local police officer who is also a Plat. Do you get to go on extradition runs? Prefer overseas vacations? Do mileage runs?
