Every HD I've had problems with was Maxtor. WD is good, as is Seagate.

And GF arrives in the living room with the shoes she intends to pack. :rolleyes:

No shoes required except for flip flops/zoris/jap-slaps/rubba slippas.

The pedal is too long. It's barely above the floor. My Honda has almost 2 inches between the floor and the bottom of the pedal.

Brake issue is with the ABS either kicking out or not breaking enough on rough roads (always a problem with any ABS system) Might be an issue with cruise control too but that's been around for years. My '98 Tacaoma acted crazy a few times on hills.

What are you going to do once you get to IAD? You say you want to get downtown. Getting downtown will likely be quite difficult. I'd either leave by air as early as possible or take a train.

Now, MAXTOR SUCKS.

I have had bad luck with WD this last 2 years as well, I have moved almost all my business(high volume) to Samsung, I have had one failure in about 110 drives, compared to a rate nearing 25% on WD, and Maxtor, I quit them years ago, they worked fine for 6-12 months then totally died.
