SEA & mx issues 08Jun07
Man, CO is slammed today in Seattle. Am currently sitting in the B terminal...
The 730a SEA-EWR departure went mechanical here in SEA and is now estimated to depart at 100p.
The 1030a SEA-EWR departure also went mechanical and departed SEA at 1210p.
The 1155a SEA-EWR departure is stuck because the inbound plane from IAH went mechanical down there. This flight is now scheduled to depart at 130p.
Will give props to the agents for the 1155a flight though. Along with having a fully booked plane (thanks to people getting rebooked from earlier flights), they are still keeping their attitudes in check...and CO is giving $6 food vouchers to those orig booked on this flight because it's a mechanical delay. I have never seen CO do this for a 1.5 scheduled delay.
Plane has just arrived from IAH so the 1155a SEA-EWR flight should be boarding soon...

I will second the props to the SEA station folks....always are customer friendly even in the worst of times. I had a 7 hour delay for weather at IAH a few years ago, they kept the Presidents Club open longer for those of us who were involved in that delay, gate agents are always more than helpful to those in need......BRAVO to SEA staff, they should have won the Presidents Club award again this year! ^

This is where CO really needs to have its standby list sorted correctly.
If some non-elite thought to standby on the flight that's going out first, he'd beat a Platinum who didn't get onto the list after him.
While CO usually runs a pretty reliable operation, when irregular ops hit, you're SOL.
Did anyone get rebooked to AS SEA-EWR or DL/AA SEA-JFK?

CO Insider has indicated they're working on the stand-by list issue though to include status as a consideration. No recent word about when it'll be done however.

Because CO was in the spirit of giving yesterday, I asked for but did not receive the DL SEA-JFK flight (which works better for me as my family is on Long Island). However, having gotten to the airport only an hour before my flight (and standing in the line for 45 minutes, I kid you not), I was out of luck. The agent was more than willing to move me to DL but every flight was sold out she said. AS was out of luck and so were NW and DL. I know they rebooked some people on UA (through DEN) who were going to places like BOS.
Her comment to me was that CO took basically every open seat on an airline as soon as the 730 was put up with a 4 hour initial delay (this is what I'm told).
BTW...for the SEA-EWR flights yesterday:
The 730a departed at 116pm and arrived at 948pm
The 1045a departed at 1152am and arrived at 746pm
The 1155a departed at 130pm (lie) and arrived at 1045pm
The agents must have put into the computer that the 1155a left the gate at 130pm, but it didn't. We sat at the gate for 1hr05mins before pushing back. We then took off and got re-routed in the air over upstate NY to go around some t'storms.
The 1045a was the winner yesterday

PS - AS doesn't help you much. They have a flight scheduled to leave at 130pm. I looked up the status and it didn't depart until 418p, arriving in EWR at 1225am.

The company would like for us to not release the brakes until the aircraft is ready to start taxiing. About 100% of the people I work with would like to start getting paid when the aircraft is full of people and they are responsible for their safety.......
