Unable to Complete Checkin...

I'm trying to do OLCI for a flight I'm on tomorrow at 19:00. Printed out my wife's boarding pass no problem, but for myself I get:

Unable to Complete Check-in
We are unable to complete the check-in process at this time. Please proceed to the airport for assistance.

There are two possibilities. I think.

1. I'm using an upgrade certificate for seat 1E. Perhaps I need to present it to the agent in person before I can print my pass?
2. The other possibility is that I was on the stupid (useless) no fly list about 2 years ago and could never check in online back then. But for the last two flight I've had no trouble.

Any ideas?
I'm really hoping the issue is #1.

BTW my wife and I are on different PNRs.

I've only had that when I've gotten SSSS'd.
Good luck though!

Ok, I called CO.com tech support and the lady said she thinks its because of the certificate.

I really hope that is the case, because I'm about fed up with the stupid SSS and no fly garbage they've put me through in the past.

Funny thing about that was, I could never fly without harassment on CO back then, but on UA I had no trouble. But lately I've had no trouble on CO, so hopefully (keeping fingers crossed) its just a certificate issue.

check in

I just helped three people check in. Two of them had a similar problem. A screen came up that said, "Unable...no e-ticket..." I tried back in a couple of seconds and they were upgraded. Before the check in process, their itineraries had economy all the way. After the error message and the retry, there were upgrades. Certificate being the problem in your case seems logical.

Its only happened to me on SSSS situations, never for cert upgrades. In fact, for certs I've just been called at the gate to hand them in when I got there, like an afterthought.

I only get SSSS'd rarely, though, and it is really funny when it happens as I have an airport ID badge, which is what I use when flying as my ID (only from that particular airport). They're always giving a double take.

Go TSA! Nice job SSSS-ing people who already have secure access via another method for legit access.
Slightly related note--I was part time working at an airport once and the only significant reason I wanted to be f/t was for the security pass(would have been sweet to meet friends at the gate and such...yes, I know that is abusing it).

That's funny - I am a contractor at Logan and the only reason I am is because I got badged for it - I meet people at the gate when there's someone to meet, but I try to schedule my "jobs" on those days too, because I feel guilty about it.

You were p/t though and didn't get one? I am only there once or twice a month and got one (but I have to hit all 5 terminals in like a 2 hour span so escorts probably couldn't keep up.)

Northwest PK certs have a similar problem

I had this issue on a trip to Las Vegas a few weeks ago using Northwest PK $$ off certificates to book Continental flights. These types of tickets are booked by calling NW even if you pick all CO flights.

The website will show everything ticketed, but when you go to OLCI, no dice. Call up support, and they say "it's fine, we can't tell you why it's not letting you checkin." That's the answer you get when you're SSSSed.

Turns out the res wasn't under Continental control and looked like a paper ticket. The strange thing was the agent that checked me in never asked for anything. When I got to the PC they looked confused...asked for a paper ticket...did a bunch of typing, and got it set.

Sadly (better for my liver), all of FC had cleared full with EUAs, and because I wasn't officially ticketed it passed me by (only Golds behind on EUA). Made up the drinks and loss at the poker table.

So, beware CO upgrade certs and Northwest PK discount certs for CO reservations. Reminds me I have an EWR-PDX in Feb to fix...

Wait a minute! How'd you get an upgrade certificate for CO? Is this for BF upgrade? I thought that CO does not issue any UG certificate anymore. Can you share with us how did you get this? Enjoy your trip.
