For legroom it's OK, as the encroachment of the slide at the emergency exit is far enough in front of you that you can stretch out. Seat width is a problem. Tightest CO seats I have ever flown (and I don't think I ate that much dim sum in HKG!). Width reduced because of tray tables and video in armrest. Lucky for me, middle seat was empty - my left shoulder literally spilled halfway over into the middle seat. Window is also mis-aligned. It's farther back than usual, so you have to stretch a bit to see out, and my right shoulder could not use the window well - I was compressed by the cabin wall. I would still choose this over a normal seat, but only because the middle was free. |
It's probably the exact same seat.

... Assuming that row 16 has video on a pull-up bar between the seats, and not wall-mounted.
If video is wall-mounted, then row 16 seats might be slightly wider than row 32. |

I find 32A and L can be a bit chilly, being right next to the exits. The aisles, C and J, aren't as bad, and I prefer them.

Looking at the seating chart for my Friday flight, I see the bulkhead rows 16 and 32 wide open ... but on a 764.
So bulkheads are against walls with no cutouts, and the extra narrow seats :( Almost tempting. |

Are they that chilly that a sweat shirt and blanket won't help, yet not chilly enough that the chill doesn't spread to the aisle seats? (That wasn't meant to come out sarcastic even though it sounds it; I'm serious)

Hello good people of Continental.
I will shortly be taking my first CO flight - in J on a 752 from TXL. I am assuming that it will be a refitted craft with the new BusinessFirst flat bed seat (surely I am not so unlucky that I will get one of two yet to be refurbed?). How accurate if SeatGuru's deescription of row 1 as having "no floor storage"? Surely they must also have an ottoman and hence floor storage? I notic on our flight that rows 2 and 3 have been filled but all 4 seats in row 1 are still available. Is there any other reason to avoid row 1? Thanks in advance. |
The "no floor storage" means that you cannot put a bag under the seat in front of you. Row 1 has a larger cutout for your feet and I'd choose it over the others.
|
I would avoid 1A and 1B due to intrusive light and noise from the galley. 1F is much better for resting, though 1E&F are set slightly further back than 1A&B. The area beneath the rather optimistically termed ottoman is about enough to accommodate shoes and the seat can be lifted from flat to upright without moving whatever you squeeze under there. I only fly in row 1 but if I remember correctly, on the 752 flatbed rows 2-4 have larger cutouts for the ottoman.
I would be interested to hear what others think about the difference between the flatbed on the 772 and 752. I find the 752 noticeably smaller, though the publicised measurements suggest only one inch of difference. 752 is also supposed to be slightly wider, but I have never noticed that. Perhaps I am missing something ? |
Thanks for the responses. ^

So... rather inconclusive on this then... :) |
I'm a UA flyer, so I have very limited experience with CO aircraft, and no experience with the international fleet. Does anyone have opinions on 762 seats? I particular, I can choose between 16A and 19A (I'm a left-side window guy).
16A shows green on seatguru due to the cutout, and 19A shows yellow due to not much extra legroom, proximity to lavs. I'm 5'11", if that impacts suggestions. |
