Refund processing times??

Have an interesting question.

I bought a ticket last week on CO.com.
1. Split fare type Full Y on the outbound and Q on the return
2. Used "bill me later" option for the first time
3. After booking I realized that first class was only 200 more
4. Within the 24 hour period I called in and they changed the reservation to "Z" class
5. Paid the difference in fare with credit card
6. Trip cancelled by company and I asked for a refund

CO said they would refund the Y portion of the fare and I would get a travel credit for the Z portion (previously Q).

So how long does this take to refund. Should I get a refund for the full amount since it is a Z fare.

I just cancelled my first and only CO purchase. I was surprised to see online it would be in the form of a travel cert for a Z fare. Called and it was credited to original form of payment. ^

Instead of starting a new thread, I'll just ask the question again. How long does it take for the online refund to be completed (Y fare)? I send it the request through their website a week ago. No email, no tracking number, nothing on my cc statement yet. Should I wait or should I call now?

I had to do this about two months ago, and I seem to recall there was some sort of confirmation or e-mail provided after I hit the 'enter' button. The credit to our account came within about 10 days, and I recall being somewhat impressed with the overall ease of the entire transaction.

I'd suggest you make the call....

I went through this a few weeks ago. I emailed through their website requesting a refund. I got an email response within a day. My CC was credited sometime within the next week or so. So if you haven't heard anything back, I would email again. The email I used was

Call. When I hit "refund" online for a "Y" ticket the refund was credited within 24 hours. The confirmation was immediate.

In 2006 my credit card refunds have taken about 7 to 10 business days.

When I've used a voucher and then cancelled the itin, I'm always told that the new voucher will be issued in 7 to 10 days. Never happens. In all four cases, I've had to call tech support (a few weeks later) and the CSR has had to research the cancelled confimation number before issuing a new voucher.

BTW, when getting a voucher issued over the phone ALWAYS ask for the PIN and expiration date. The CSRs say that you'll receive a mail confirm but that's never happened (for me).

Called CO last nite. Was told that there is no record of my online refund request. :0 They had to re-submit it. Not sure if it's a problem with the new website. When I did it online, it clearly came back with a message saying it went through and will take x days to process....etc. But they insist it's my computer. Oh well.
