COPA paper coupon
Hi,
I have a COPA paper coupon for $350 that I would like to use on a Continental flight (since COPA doesn't fly from my airport). When I received the coupon (because of an oversold flight) I was told that I would be able to use it in Continental.
The problem is that I've called Continental and they ask me to call COPA. I call COPA and they don't have a clue of what I'm talking about. Things like "go to your closest COPA or Continental office". It's funny because according to COPA, even if I want to redeem the coupon for a COPA flight, I have to do it in person!
Any ideas? Help!
Thanks,
Cesar

Hi Cesar,
The only bump voucher that I ever had expire was one from COPA-- I was in an identical situation, assured at the gate that I could use the voucher on a CO flight. After a number of calls to COPA and CO I found I could ony turn the voucher in for COPA operated flights, and only at a COPA counter (or by mail to the Miami office)--- but considering the cost to get to a COPA gateway then pay the additional for the flight, I ended up never using it.

I hope for your sake that the situation has changed from 18 months ago (my voucher expired 6 months ago) but I'm not hopeful.
Good luck! Please post what you discover.

Sorry, the policy has not changed. The Copa issued travel certificate is valid only on Copa operated codeshare flights CO*9040-9081.
Sorry for the missinformation you got from CM.
