Neutral? I'll be coming from Kent! OK, neutral, you say. Hmmm...that would be, let's see, North Randall? That's it! We can eat at the mall food court. What fun!

Furthermore, I propose that the next national DO be held at a neutral location. Knoxville Tennessee is near the center of the IAH, EWR, CLE triangle. Perfect! It's all settled then.

See you there, Goldfinger!

I'll have to migrate up from Akron but to someone from Houston, that's like coming into the city from FM1960. I can say that it will take a whole lot less time to drive, however , so count me in.

@MBM3
Can we count on the Mrs attending... or does she still give the to life on the FT?

@ RNE
Good to see you back! After you positing about leaving the Mrs in the back while you enjoyed BF over the Atlantic I feared your absence implied the worst Glad to see youre still with us (and hopefully with all body parts too).

Count J.Edward in as well... assuming there are no snakes on the IAH-CLE plane!

Never been to a "DO" before. I'd certainly be interested. I, too, would like the Bomber Group. I'd vote for happy hour on the outside deck, followed by dinner. Hope 24R is in use that day! The heck with being centrally located; this IS an aviation-related group! Plus traffic is hardly ever that bad that you can't get to the CLE area in a 1/2 hour or so from virtually everywhere!

Late September or early October is best.

Please remember that the Jewish High Holy Days occur during this time period, so you may want to push your date into the middle of Oct. or Sept.

LOL. I am unsure as to Mrs. MBM3's attendance but she will certainly be invited. She rolls eyes a lot less these days, but still is amazed at Flytertalk in general. I guess finding out about the $275 airfare to HNL would change most people's impression!

Being a former east sider, I am certainly aware of these dates but appreciate the reminder.

As for more of a central location, I am trying to make it easier for those FTers who are flying in for the event. I toyed with an event at jacob's field, but the thought of planning those logistics is troublesome at best (even with the rapid stop at tower city). Plus, the Bomb Group is such a spectacular location!

It's been a few years since I lived in Northern Summit but wouldn't a "central" location be somewhere around Brecksville or Twinsburg (Sorry couldn't resist the east/west thingy)

So, would you let someone still in "single digit post total" in? If so, and the dates work, I'll be there.

Shoot, I've been to all 3 FT events so far this year....might as well make it up to CLE, depending on the football schedule.

Only been there once (other than connecting at the airport), and it was way out in nela Park at the old General Electric Lighting HQ, but I stayed down by Playhouse Square. I was pleasently surprised at CLE...not the dreaded "mistake on the lake" that everyone talks about. Good time, nice restaurants, and I really like that area down by the water with all of the bars and eats.
