Who would be interested in a CLE mini-do?

I have mentioned this before and I am mulling over it again - is there any interest in having a mini-do in CLE? I am thinking about some Saturday afternoon in September or October so we can enjoy the fall weather and the outdoor deck at:

http://www.100thbgrestaurant.com/

I do not mind setting up dinner reservations and the like if enough people are interested in getting together. Beyond the great view and proximity to CLE (it is just across the street from 6L/24R), this restraurant has properties from all of the major chains within a short distance, including Hilton (a HGI is just down the street), Marriott and SPG.

Let me know what you think & I will start working on some dates.

I can do it but only in October and the sooner the date is set the better as I'm ramping up my travel again ^

Man, MBM3, what a name for a restaurant nearby an airport. :p

Why cant we make a mini-do at the Jake sometime?

coplatua1k Aug 17, 2006 11:36 pm

Oct would be great and I bet we can get CO to give us a tour of CLE ops and Chelsea.

sure, interested.

My First Personal Appearance!

Excellent idea, MBM3! So good in fact I'm surprised I didn't think of it! The Jake, however--while eminently worthy in its own right--is not as good an idea as the Bomber Group. After all, we're not on SportsTalk, we're on FlyerTalk!

The Bomber Group is an excellent venue for the Great and Powerful RNE's first personal appearance, my illustrious glory being outshined only by that of Mrs. RNE. Definitely wear sunglasses in my presence. Oh, and a lot of bowing and curtsying will be in order too.

Late September or early October is best. Count me in! Oh, and expect a longer autograph line than you-know-who could ever muster.

Yep, depending on the date, I would be interested.

Interested also, but again, depending on the date.

My first appearance also

Seeing as this would be my first appearance...I'm interested based on the dates.

However, as an Eastsider, can't we do this at a more nuetral location? Say downtown? If push came to shove, I could take the train to the airport.

Does the 100th Bomb Group still have headphones at the tables on which you can listen to the CLE tower? I've only been there once post-9/11 and I don't think they had them then.

I can tell you're a true East Sider - completely unwilling to venture west of downtown unless you have a flight to catch. ;)

I'd be in - depending on the dates of course. ^

I'd be in as well...

I haven't lived here long enough to be apart of the "eastside vs westside" thing. From what my neighbors say, its old BS...people used. The eastside being more affluent, better housing, and culturally superior to the westside working class hoods.

Being a native of NY..I really love living here in Cleveland. Big city feel and amenties wonderful ethnic nabes...without the headaches and attitude, whether im on the east or westside of the city itself.

But the eastside does rule! now the 'burbs that a different thing. I've only been to three (cleve. hts, shaker hts. & lakewood) and cleveland hts/shaker hts are a lil to "hoity toity" for my taste and I'm from the upper westside but then again...i've never like the 'burbs :p
