757 Bf Avod
I apologise if this has been covered lately, but I have searched and found nothing new. I am taking my first BF 757 flight EWR-BHX on wednesday and was wondering what my chances are of getting the AVOD seats. What percentage of the 757's have the AVOD installed. Finally is it true that there is no powerports in BF 757 unless they are the AVOD seats. Thanks you for your help.

I don't know for sure what percentage of B757-200's have been converted. I can tell you what I have heard:
- I have read in posts that all but two B757-200's have been refitted to the BF configuration;
- I have read that all B757-200's will have the AVOD by year's end. I assume that when a domestic B757 is upgraded to the international layout, the new AVOD will be installed at the same time;
- Finally, a concierge in Newark on the EWR/OSL flight told me that '90% of the fleet' has the new AVOD. The airline has 41 B757-200's in the fleet. If what the concierge said is true, the there are four or five B757-200's without the new AVOD.
I actually think the number is higher than four or five. I took two TATL flights in July; neither B757 had the new AVOD. CO Insider can give the definite answer, but I'd say the chance is better than 50/50 and might be as high as 90%.

I'm pretty sure CO Insider already gave the answer recently, and I'm pretty sure it was somewhere around 50% AVOD-equipped. You can probably search for a few minutes and find the correct answer.
Also, I don't think CO intended to do any more IFE upgrades until after the busy TATL summer season is over.

I flew EWR-EDI in mid-July, in Y. No AVOD. Didn't notice whether BF had it or not.

I flew to QIO in July. System worked fine going down but was totally trashed on the return with only airshow available (no music either).
Several planes I was told have problems all the time.

To answer the OP's final question, the 752 BF seats do not have power unless they also have the AVOD. IIRC, the power port is a standard 110 plug, not an EmPower plug.

Is CO putting true ON DEMAND on the planes?
The last BF flight I had was in the spring on a 767 to Europe. The AV was not true on demand; IIRC, all movies queued up at the same time. There was a fair selection, but I could not start a movie anytime I wished. No offense here, but it wasn't like the WBC A330 AVOD that you can start/stop/pause, etc....

I think there's a way to tell which plane you may get a day or two in advance.
The ones that have AVOD right now should be those planes that were recently converted from domestic FC configuration to BF. If you look at the seating plan in coach about a day or two before departure, you will see seats 7ABC which do not exist in the original BF-configured 752s.
So, I believe 7ABC = AVOD + 110V power for BF.
