transfer or purchase of miles
Dont have enough miles in my account for number of awards needed. Have some in wifes account. Co.com says you can purchase necessary miles but I cant find cost. Does anyone know cost per 1000? probably would need to purchase 40k and it might be expensive. Can you transfer from one account to another ? tried search but it didnt seem to work. ps I did post on cc but this has to be done quickly so I might have to purchase. thanks

Here's a link about purchasing miles. It is expensive and there are other restrictions. Opening a Chase card will generate quite a few miles; you could also search the website for offers from partners. If you're going to buy from the partners anyway, why not get the miles.

Can't he transfer his wife's one pass miles into Amtrack Rewards then transfer back in Continental at a 1:1 ratio? That way he won't lose any miles and the cost will be less. I am not altogether sure how one does this transfer but I think theoretically it can be done.

i do not believe you can transfer miles if the name on the account on either is different
