VERY odd EWR-MDW EUA experience

I'm flying to Chicago this Thursday afternoon. I have an X fare for which I paid the grand sum of $160 r/t. There are at least two PLTs in Y (two occupied exit-row seats, which as we know can only be booked in advance by PLTs). The plane is a 735 with only eight seats in F. So how on earth did I, a lowly OP Gold, manage to not only snag an EUA, but snag it a full four days in advance, ahead of at least two PLTs??

Has this kind of thing ever happened to anyone else? Not that I'm complaining!

Other elites can get the exit rows by calling.

What rkkwan said and the people in the exit row may have been booked on an award ticket from a Plat account.

To see what one might have done right to get the upgrade. Although it seems in this case it was probably reading to the elderly (i.e. good karma ).

Alright, points all taken. The other mystery is how I got the EUA four full days in advance as a OP Gold. I've never gotten one more than 2-2.5 days ahead before, even on flights where F ended up being 75% empty.

It seems that lately (IME), that UGs have been clearing in the evening of the 4th day out for myself (GOLD). I guess they consider it the 3day window though. This has happened for most of my EUAs inthe past couple of months.
