VERY odd EWR-MDW EUA experience

I'm flying to Chicago this Thursday afternoon. I have an X fare for which I paid the grand sum of $160 r/t. There are at least two PLTs in Y (two occupied exit-row seats, which as we know can only be booked in advance by PLTs). The plane is a 735 with only eight seats in F. So how on earth did I, a lowly OP Gold, manage to not only snag an EUA, but snag it a full four days in advance, ahead of at least two PLTs??

Has this kind of thing ever happened to anyone else? Not that I'm complaining!
