Popsicle for ground crew?

I'm sitting in the PC, IAH, E-terminal and there is a van with a small CO logo on the door and then some decals of ice cream novelties on the side, also a sign that says, "Caution Children." There is a large cut out on the passenger side. I'm watching and they are going around and passing out popsicles to ground crew. Must be new because even from here you can tell they approach the van with reservations.

Funny to see tug drivers eating popsicles

What a great idea for employee moral! Given the high temps lately, I'm sure that cold snacks are refreshing.

I am surprised that they do not have Chelsea bring around a big sundae cart...

Hot, humid afternoons in Houston are bad enough. Spending it on the ramp at the airport slinging bags and a popsicle would be a welcome respite.

^ to CO!

Sounds like a nice treat for the ground crew, especially on a typical hot & humid IAH summer afternoon!

A nice touch by CO! After spending 5 minutes in the cargo hold of the 757 at the DO in Jan, I remember commenting how difficult and tiring it must be working an entire shift in the IAH summer heat.

I wonder how long it took for the ice cream truck to clear TSA?

Actually this is what caught my eye! They were on the other side of the jetway to E-12, which happened to be my gate of departure. I saw this van with a sign on the front that said "Caution! Children." They sat there for a while and then one man directed the van under the jetway, indicating there was several feet of clearance. A female was driving, then he jumped into the vendor seat and began distribution.

I kept thinking why didn't I have a camera. When I realized I did, (sorry just came off an 11 hr international flight) they were gone.

It was "cool."
