There was some game called Suitcase where you had to pack a bag. what fool saw that and figured it would be worth the money. it was like palying games on a DOS computer. HP had them also. some of their planes still have the actual holes where the screens used to be and they are just covered up with hard plasitc. bet we'll be saying the same about jet connect in the next few years, if this thread lasts that long. god, those things were stupid. |
Diet Dr.Pepper! And getting upgraded 90 percent of the time as a Silver Elite, then the following year getting upgraded as a Gold in every flight but one! THAT was a good year! Also- the mileage/fare differences. And getting that great little kit on a Maui-IAH flight with sleep masks, Tic Tacs and aloe vera, among other things. We got the kits on overnight flights from HNL and Maui and then a few months later they were no longer available on one of the flights. Maybe it was JUST my flight, but I didn't see a kit like that again until my trip last Summer to and from London. I also remember calling at midnight...those were fun times. Even business trips were fun. And reading the old mileage requirements for Silver make me sad. I think 40,000 should certainly get you to the middle level (now Gold).
But I do like being able to book online and see my seats. |

I remember the port side staircase integrated into the door... and the leather seats, oddly woven with 1970's fabric up the center. And... anyone remember CO's reconstruction of CLE's C concourse? I remember arriving/departing under the scaffolding... and I remember C-16, which used to be a dedicated gate where you'd take the stairs down from C-17 and walk out on the apron to the air stairs.... |
