I don't believe you can get a better fare at the airport. I think you're stuck with that $642 K fare, if you decide to fly on Continental. If you decide to fly into ORD and seek alternate transport north to Milwaukee, the fare is $452. Midway is pricing at $442.

If anyone has any suggestions, thank you in advance for all your help!

Strangely enough, I found an oddball low fare IAH-LGW for Memorial Day weekend (717.00 All In)...that, coupled with a cheapo RT on BA LGW-EDI means I get to return to my former stomping ground to see friends for a long weekend. Together with the current 0% interest for 6 months on bill-me-later purchases, the deal was irresistable...I don't often expect low 700's fares on a nonstop to Europe from IAH going into the summer travel season.

I think I found proof that it's inventory being played around with...and they are trying to force early bookers into midprice tickets, 2 week-out bookers into cheap tickets and last minute bookers into full fare.
Here is the sample inventory count from 3 Sundays in June, between EWR and FLL...and was found on every single flight on each Sunday I sampled.
