Continental cheating?
Just tried to book a reward on CO's SkyTeam partners from LCA-KUL. Apart from the fact it took ages for the agent to find a routing with seats available (I kept offering to help, having of course jotted down all the options beforehand, but he didn't seem to think I'd be capable), he then quoted me the reward at 80,000 miles (Economy). Now, I have not used my OP account in years and I am sure things have changed but when I look on CO.com it clearly says Europe to Asia is 60,000 miles ("Series 9B Travel Rewards"). What am I missing?!

Perhaps it wasn't a standard award?

Well, I did try with two different agents. Also apparently the second one went and talked to his supervisor. Their explanation was that "there are several series of rewards between Europe and Asia". So how come this information is not shared with the customer? Where is transparency?! On their website it clearly says 60,000. Do you think I have a case to push this further?
Also, can anyone help me find blackout dates for CO's partners? Apparently Emirates blacks-out the entire month of July (at least) for all Europe-DXB flights but I could not find this information anywhere.
Thanks!

That really sucks.
Is CO even going to bother to send a representative to the Freddies?

What's going on??? Anybody have any ideas on what I can do?!

CO's 60k mile Series 9B Awards say they are for "Between Europe and Asia." Europe includes Cyprus, and Asia is defined as "Asia, the Mid Pacific and the South Pacific."
The page does include a little disclaimer: "Not all rewards are valid on all partners. Additional mileage may be required on some partners. Other terms and conditions may also apply." But unfortunately it doesn't go into any more detail.
Note that there's also an 80k mile Series 9D Award which they say is "Between North Asia/South Asia and Europe." Europe for that award also includes Cyprus, and Korea is included in "North Asia" and Malaysia is included in "South Asia."
I can't really tell when one would apply and when the other would apply. My first reaction was that 9B would be departing from Europe and 9D would be departing from Asia, but that doesn't make sense, since the word "between" indicates either award can go either way (otherwise it should say "from X to Y" rather than "between X and Y").

Hmm... interesting, no? Seems like they have the same award twice, how bizzare. Of course I was looking at the one that says between Europe and Asia, I presume(d) it's correct. Maybe I will have another talk with them.

Did you ask which series reward they were issuing and why? That might help clarify the issue.

So call back and ask what series it is.
