Connecting at EWR

I have an upcoming saturday morning itinerary ORD-EWR-FLL (don't ask why) and was wondering what to expect at EWR.

I know that the ORD flights come into A and the FLL flight will depart out of C...is the train between terminals outside security or inside?

How have security lines been in C on Saturday mornings?

The monorail between A and C is outside security. Crowds, if any, will be at the Term C security zones, not the monorail.

How long have you got between flights? I wouldn't tarry at Term A.

out of the 100's and 100's of flights in and out of EWR, why do they have 3 or 4 flights going into A? and such random city choices. ATL, ORD??

The train is right outside security. Figure a maximum of a 4 minute wait and 3 minute ride. Lines at security should be light -- maybe 10 minutes max. Also, they have an elite line through security at terminal C.

CO has flights to ATL, ORD, and DFW out of A because it is entirely O&D traffic. Everyone going to these three cities are ending their trips there or in EWR. Therefore, CO does it out of convenience to business travelers because it is much quicker to get through A.

The reason that everyone going from these cities is ending in EWR (at least most of the time) is because there are always non-stops on other airlines from the cities (ORD-AA/UA, DFW-AA/DL, ATL-DL). Therefore, no one would ever connect in EWR when they can get non-stops from their home cities, so CO makes transit easier by going out of A.

Obviously not, or the original post would not be here!

They actually try to bill this as "shuttle" service from EWR to ORD/ATL/DFW. Reality is that it is predominantly originating and terminating passengers. One would suspect that once C3 was opened at the end of 2001, they would have had the capacity to move these back to C. But the building of a Prez Club in A makes it appear CO is there to stay.

I for one prefer A terminal, much less crowded, parking is easier, great staff at the PC etc, also now that I'm taking UA flights out of EWR more, I have my choice of their RC or the PC (I'm a member at both).
