Are you really making these irrational statements? And threatening violence? I'd advise that any form of physical assault you plan, on the chair or otherwise, be very well thought out, because you might find yourself determined to be a "potentially unstable threat to yourself and others" and subject to an uncontestable, unappealable 72 hour stay at a mental health facility for further evaluation upon arrival.

I have almost had my laptop screen busted in half when a rude person in front of me has to recline their seat back so quickly.

In CO coach if someone in front of me reclines- I can do a very through scalp exam. I think they should take the recline away totally or put a exceptable seat pitch in coach....

CraigS,

I'm with you on the laptop. Almost had that happen, too.

For PradaFA here is a picture and demo.

I used to be a lot more docile. My combat of the seat recliner used to consist of: Adjusting the air vent towards his head and blasting cold air until his seat went up. That worked well but sometimes took a while. Now,I just put the seat up and he's got to deal with it. If he tries to put it back again....up it goes again.

There are airlines with More Room Throughout Coach ya know.. you don't HAVE to take CO

In addition you can BUY a F seat if you really need that extra space.. that is one of the reasons why they make a F class for those who need more room..

Whoa. There's been a lot of threats and stuff. A little courtesy goes both ways. Most passengers expect to be able to recline their seats and someone behind should expect it. Many people are unaware, rather than being rude, that they're bumping your laptop when they recline. I think that it is more than fair to use the recline, especially for a long flight, or an overnight flight. But it is also fair to politely ask them if they could keep it somewhat less reclined if it's bothering you, and if they say no, that's their right and you're out of luck. That said,it's a nice gesture to keep your seat as far forwards as possible.

But this talk of stuffing towels, and once it goes back up, it's going to stay up, and calling the police, is for kids and the Jerry Springer show.

Now about those kids that keep banging on the back of your seat with their feet?

Jeez, I wish I was as big a tough guy as you!

"Don't mess with me, I'll direct my air vent at you and FREEZE your seat back up!"

Back in the day, if that happened, I probably would have beat your ..., but these days I'd let someone else have the pleasure.

Well, maybe I'd be able to handle it in coach, but most flyers realize how uncomfortable it is and are courteous enough not to recline their seats. However, in First Class, that would be COMPLETELY unacceptable and I'd make sure somebody dealt with it properly. I'd take you on, I have fun with people like you!

Haha, somehow I doubt that...

At the very worst it would be a draw!

Out of curiousity: do you recline YOUR seat?

I don't recline unless I'm in F or there is nobody behind me.

Most of the time I prevail when having to take care of someone. I really don't care win or lose as long as the other guy suffers.
I look at it like this: One Lion and one Tiger decide they are gonna "have at it". One will eventually win....but they will BOTH be beaten pretty badly. I could care less about myself, win or lose, because I have no fear. You being beaten badly is what I look for.

This type of attitude will likely get you arrested or badly hurt (but, perhaps, if the other guy ends up worse off, you won't care). At a minimum, it will certainly not get you any dates. I think it's time to lay off the Puppy Uppers, mi amigo.

SJU- You are OK in my book. You have always taken the high road and made your point. Please don't recline on me
