Gate Pass

I am a President Club member. Can I get a gate pass to use a NW Club?

Gate Pass...

Not related to P or WP Clubs, but I'll go ahead and ask... I am taking my 80 year old grandmother to the airport next weekend and she flies very rarely, and never alone. This time she'll be by herself and I'd like to escort her to the gate. Will CO allow me to get a gate pass to do this, or would I be better off calling ahead and getting on the list to go to the President's Club so I could get through security?

Should they say no,

you can always go for the refundable ticket option. If you're in Houston AUS works well for this (about $104 for a one way Y) - just be sure to go for a late flight out. In exam season I'll often come on up to the lounge for a day over the weekend for some good quality study time. (Plus free food/booze/wifi) If only they had a cappuccino machine... oh well, I'll happily take what the give me.

I understand that they will issue a gate pass if you are with ticketed unaccompanied minors or other "special needs" passengers, but otherwise generally not.

But there are no such restrictions on a fully refundable ticket.

The CO agents in EWR will tell you that gate passes are issued at their discretion, but I've never been turned down at Terminal C. Late night arriving flights (after 9 pm) in Terminal A do not get gate passes to meet UMs since there are no CO agents to issue them.

Call ahead and have CO make a note in the passenger's record about being elderly and travelling alone...when you check in, ask nicely.

Sorry, the link says that Pres Club members can use NW Worldclubs. Do you mean to use a club in another terminal? I would think that is a function of the airport and out of the airline's control.
