Fireworks,

Not meaning to disrespect CLE or the Hopkins Sheraton. It's that I'm a Marriott & Hilton person. The property is very nice.

Regards,

Coplatua1k,

I see what you are saying on the "Axis of Evil". Time will tell!?!

NW please hold your ground- I pray!
W/ the speculation that MEM might have WN coming to town (USA Today 9/25/03) does this mean that they will buckle like CO and go w/ the Delta scheme?

An article titled "Cleveland May Lose Continental Hub" was posted the other morning on http://www.newsnet5.com

If you do a search for "Continental Hub" on this site you'll see the headline is still there but the article was delete. I read the original article and it really did not provide any details or source for this info.

Even though I fly out of CLE every week, I'm secretly hoping Continental pulls out and JetBlue turns the D terminal into their new Embraer 190 hub.

Why would you want JetBlue? All Y, no elite status, no food...no thanks.

Perhaps because with the heightened threshold for elite qualification and the proliferation of first class-deprived regional jets at CLE, a carrier with an excellent economy product in terms of seat pitch and in-flight entertainment doesn't seem so bad.

I have never flown JetBlue, but at the same time, I have never heard anything really bad about them, either. Perhaps the devil we don't know would, in this case, be better than the devil we know all too well?

I must admit I'm only on RJ's once or twice a year. No fan of JetBlue, Song or SW I still have to go for CO in CLE with EliteAccess, pretty good in flight entertainment, food, and upgrades.

If CO pulls back on CLE, someone else will fill the gap.

Witness HP's exit of CMH...

If anything, CO leaving CLE would be a boon for travelers there - less fortress hub pricing plus more presence by carriers with better FF programs and/or planes.

Don't let the doorknob hitcha on the way out, Gordo!

Yes, that would be nice. As I said in another thread, status is nice, but cash is better, especially if status is for sale at greater than marginal levels. Jet Blue is a fantastic airline, with the entire coach not so very far from FC on Continental.
