EWR Advice

My wife and I are flying EWR-SFO on Continental Friday. We will probably check two bags. She is coming from home and I am coming from work. Since I may arrive with less time to spare before boarding, I wanted to know whether she can get our boarding passes and check our bags before I arrive so that when I arrive, all we have to do is go to the gate.

If she can't get my boarding pass at the counter, could she get her own boarding pass and check the two bags and then when I arrive, could I check in at a kiosk and get my boarding pass so we can quickly make our way to the gate?

I'm planning on parking in P6, long-term parking and taking the bus back to the terminal. My wife will take a car service to the airport.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Hopefully, the traffic friday afternoon/evening won't be so bad and this won't be an issue. fyi.. I'm planning on leaving work at 5:30pm for a 7:30pm flight. it is about a 30 minute drive with normal traffic to the long-term parking lot.

any thoughts?

SHould be no problem... have her check the bags under her name, they need to see ID when you check bags. You can always do web-checkin.

Are you saying, she could check in at the airport and check the bags and I could check in online and just go with her to the gate after I arrive? I didn't think that was possible since the two tickets are under one reservation.

you can both checkin on line... and get your boarding passes..

then when she gets to the airport she has to go to the kisok with just bag drop and add the 2 bags and it will give her a new boarding pass...and tag her bags

she has to move the bags to the xray area though... hopefully they have wheels

Your wife should be able to check both bags without any problem. On a rare occassion they said my bags were overweight and insisted that my fiance check the bag separate.

The best way to ensure no problems is to arrive when your wife does. I know that it may be tough to get out of the office early, but I think you will be cutting it close leaving at 5:30 for a 7:30 flight.

The Friday traffic around Newark airport has been horrendous the last couple of weeks. Couple that with the bus taking forever to get to the terminal from long-term parking, you could be cutting it extremely close if security line is long.

like sweetsue said, you can both check in and then you'll have BP's.

she can check the bags, and you can each have your boarding passes

I think it's just a smart-... way of saying you should have included more information in the title.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Glad others were able to help you ^
