Where does KL Plat fall in upgrade waitlist on CO?

The order for CO and NW seems to be clear but is it true that KL Plat is in 3rd 'place' after CO and NW Plat but before CO and NW Gold?

Back in the days KLM Royal Wings were upgraded before CO Gold Elite members, so I guess KLM Platinum Elite members are upgraded before CO Plat Elite members.
Don`t know for sure, but would make sense based on the old rules...

Since KLM Platinum Elite members should get complimentary upgrades on CO as well now, at least according to the new 2003 KLM Handbook, I like to answer the question about the EUA priority on CO ?

My original question was unclear: I meant the EUA priority on CO with my original question. Was at the airport yesterday and the agent didn't believe that KL PEs could get upgrades on CO. Does anyone know the Galileo codes to get to that page on their system? He was paging through and couldn't find it anywhere

Hi anandrag,

so I guess he did not upgrade you at all ?

It is so typically for KLM not to inform their elites at all about the new benefit..., if it exists ?

If there are two constants in the aviation industry, one of them is wrong information from KLM and the Helpdesk.Stupid quotes from Gordo is the other one...

He was actually very nice and took my word for it... So instead of seat 21E (middle), I got 1B. Somewhat of improvement ;=)
Do you know where in KL handbook this benefit is described? Need to take copy or know GDS code to show/give to agents in future

Beside the quote from Elena, I don`t know anything about it at all.I called KLM early this week to ask for a new 2003 handbook and the agent promised to send it to me asap.

I can fax you the page, if you need it.

We get upgrades from CO now? I must be spending too much time flying and not enough time on FT. When did this begin?

Neither KLM nor Continental seem to know about this new policy, which is usually a sure indicator that it IS true!

I always have to fight with CO for my upgrades. Page 42 in the 2003 Elite brochure specifically states that KL PEs are part of the EUA system. (read my post on KL) I have never received an EUA from CO, upon check-in I request an upgrade and show them the brochure, they try to verify the info but it takes too long time so generally they put me on the wailist and once I'm there I usually get upgraded at the gate.

NW, on the other hand, is very efficient. I suggest calling them and ask them to upgrade you manually rather than waiting for EUA. CO however says they cannot do this manually, everything is automatic.
They are also stingy about extra luggage but usually let it go through.

The post was under the heading "Elite cards" but am copying the info here:

I am quoting from the FD Elite Program Brochure 2003: (page 42)
"Reserved exclusively for our Platinum Elite members, Platinum Elite first class upgrade automatically entitles you to First Class Travel with Northwest and Continental Airlines. This service is available on most Northwest and Continental-operated domestic flights, whenever you travel alone or with other Platinum Elite members. When travelling on a full-fare Economy Class ticket, your upgrade will be automatically reserved at the time of booking. For those travelling on a discounted Economy Class ticket, the Northwest and Continental Airlines reservations system will attempt to book your upgrade starting five days prior to departure."
