I think all of us want a quick, peaceful and fair resolution to this issue as soon as possible.

As cigarman challenged Larry with a bet to have the "DO" with the FT members, I would love to see Larry work a 4 day trip as a FA, to see what he is really made of. I bet he wouldn't last a day in My heels. Long days, lots of sit time, delays, short layovers, where we barely get a nap. Then put up with a full flight EWR-PBI, with all the "I am so special wannabees". Or the EWR-LAS "trailer trash".
Come on Larry, show us how to do it with "Dignity and Respect.

Talk about an unpleasant visualization!

My parents fly that route about once per year (as revenue passengers, no less). I really hope you're not their FA the next time they head that way...
That dignity and respect thing goes both ways, you know. Trashing the people who make our paychecks possible is not the best way to go about earning it yourself.
Just my opinion, though.

- Yelling across the aisle at each other (If I hear anyone yell, "Hey, Anthony..." again I'll lose it)
- Loudly talking and singing
- Jumping up and down and switching seats
- Pulling on the seats to get up and stretch
- Kicking the seats of those in front of them (particularly those who politely asked them to be quiet)
- Getting up when they were not supposed to (during taxi to the runway)
- Taking flash pictures many, MANY times -- including taking them out the window.

Unions and collective bargaining have their place IMO, as they are only things protecting workers from 100% shareholder focused companies. (IE with no concern for employees) Unions also raise non-union wages by pure comparison. The first thing a labor consultant will often tell a company in danger of unionization is to raise working standards immediatly.
I hope some compromise is found. I know CO needs to stay compedative, but they have to remember that if the FA are scowling at everyone (like the NW labor problems several years ago) pax will walk. I didnt fly NW for a year or two following the last issue they had. The FAs kept taking their issues out on the passengers and it sucked. I empathized with the NW FAs, but I am not masochistic and didnt hang around.

It is well known that the Vegas crowd are amateur flyers, generally speaking. I'm definitely not arguing that! Not much different than Orlando, and most other FL destinations. Many just don't yet know the etiquette, and probably won't fly often enough to learn it. I suppose I just don't think that warrants a public bashing.

More Importantly
"They are entitled to have opinions too."
So, we're fine with the FA's thinking (and, more importantly posting) "trailer trash"?? How bout "Muslim towelheads"?? How bout "ghetto Blacks"?? How bout "drunk Irish"?? On and on and on.
My God, this is astonishing.
Gobsmaked.

Hey -- they can post whatever they want. This is a free and open forum and what was posted is well within the rules. If that lowers your opinion of those who post such things then so be it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to bash anyone. But those flights usually have the most drama. Most Passengers are great going to LAS, but there ARE many who can only be discribed as "trailer trash". There are very few flying proffessionals aboard. Even in first class there are those who cause much drama.
The show "Airline" pales in comparison to what I have witnessed on EWR-LAS flights.
Verbal attacks between passengers in 1st. Drunken passengers (liquor brought on by passengers and secretly consumed with out the FAs knowledge, until they were very drunk). Lively pre-Bachelor partys, though most have been fun. Couples arguing on the way home after he/she gambled/drank too much.
I truely didn't mean to bash or offend any one one here. Most those that would fall into that catagory would probably not be surfing on here.
So, if I did offended anyone here, I am truely sorry.
