Transfer to HP in PHX
Now that CO has moved in PHX what is the best way to go to get to HP? I noticed there were buses but is there a way to walk within security?
Thanks.
Thanks.

No way to stay within security... two completely different terminals. Hop on an inter-terminal bus to Terminal Four.

Be sure and get the Eastbound bus, or you'll be heading for the parking lot first! Busses seem to run anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes apart.
I'm no good at these airline codes, but think you're meaning America West. They are in both the east & west ends of T4. Get in which ever door is closest & find a monitor to figure out which direction to go.

If you have to make a connection from a non America West flight to a flight out of terminal four, allow more than an hour between flights. The security lines can get quite long in terminal four plus you have to wait to get one of the inter-terminal buses. I just came through there yesterday, and my first flight arrived 1/2 hour early or I would have missed the HP flight.

Well, I just got back from that trip and what a mess. Also, that terminal (2) is a dump. Since direct flights are too high I have been trying to fly CO and change to HP in PHX to go west which has worked until this. I will just fly HP from EWR now. Nothing like stepping out in 113 deg heat and then waiting for a bus to connect.

FYI, T-2 and eventually T-3 will someday be replaced by a new T-5. 9-11 significantly slowed down the expansion plans.
The first project, however, should start construction in under two years, and will help out inter-terminal travelers like you, though. It'll be a train, built in two phases. The first runs from East Economy to T-3, and the second from T-3 west to the new RAC (RentAcar Center). So eventually you can go in air-conditioned comfort between terminals.
Edited cuz I'm keyboardically-challenged this morning.

Also--sounds like you're from PHX or pass through often. Be sure to check out the PHX Do on June 17, posted in the community forum.
