How often does this happen...!!!

My wife, a NW Silver, managed to have her standard award tickets on CO upgraded on both segments of her EWR-LAX-EWR trip last week. Her return on the red eye was on a BF configured 752! The return was upgraded at the time of check-in six hours prior to flight when she checked in on CO.com. She's pretty kicked about it!

I suggest you remove this thread as soon as possible before CO reads it and covers this bug in the CO.com checkin process.

Why? Is the free exchange of information only supposed to benefit the consumer? Or did I miss that section of the Flyertalk Terms Of Service?

Isn't that getting VERY old yet? If I had a nickel for every time you post this...well I wouldn't be rich, but it'd be a LOT of nickels!

Wow!
When MissBumpMe! and I flew on a BF award to HNL our "domestic" portion DCA-IAH was -downgraded- to Y.
Now I see how it works!

if i had a nickel for every thread i entered solely because the Topic title was completely and utterly non-descriptive and then, once i entered the thread, figured out that i really wasn't interested in the Topic to begin with....well, i would be wealthier.

isn't that THE POINT of the Topic title (i.e., to give a good description of the Topic so that parties can determine their own level of interest)?

C'mon buddy, don't tell me this topic didn't interest you after you entered the thread

What's up with this title policing thing anyway...? I don't get it. How hard is it to click a link to the thread and then just click back to the list of topics if you're not interested? Or is it a matter of principle or something...?

Why bother to have topic titles, or even different topics at all? Why not just post every message to a single list. If you don't like a message you can just skip to the next one, right?

Topic titles should give you a hint of what the topic is about. One shouldn't have to open a topic in order to determine whether or not it is of interest. It's rather hard to keep up with everything and informative titles help people to go to what interests them.

With that in mind I'd say that this topic is extremely poorly named. Please keep the discussion to what is in the first message or I'll just close this topic and put it out of its misery.

I find the with-out-fail self-ordained policing of topic titles with absolutely no "value added" to the thread, itself, to be very much more annoying than the occasional non-descriptive topic title. So much so that quite often I intentionally employ vague topic titles in order to elicit from FCTSTY the oh-so strenuous effort of clicking open the thread and reading that daunting first post. It's also how I check to make sure that FCTSTY is still alive and kicking. I do so worry about him.

But not nearly as much as your fellow readers appreciate your incessant "title policing", as this very thread, now in your honor, evidences. And not nearly as "mature", either.

Since I started this, I'll just say that I'm tired of seeing this judgemental comment in the threads (and yes, it's happened to me too). We've seen it hundreds (thousands?) of times...it makes me wonder if you're just trying to increase your post count.

I don't mind clicking into threads like this since Flyertalk is full of so much information I have benefited from. Who cares if the title happens to be vague - if I don't want to open it, I won't.
