I apologise for not being more specific. An article in today's travel section of USA Today alerted me to Continental's new on-line check in policy.
No other details except it starts February 11th.

This would be great if it started now since I have 4 flights on Monday. It is so nice and easy to do it with NWA, I have gotten spoiled and hate to deal with airport check-in whether it be electronic or human.

You can already do that now.
Go to "Manage reservations" and one of the options is "View/Change Seat"

FCTSTY's point is that NW allows elites access to exit row seats, whereas CO has becoming surprisingly strict about assigning Exit Row and Bulkhead seating. Unfortunately, this problem is only getting worse and will probably continue with the online check-in.

I wonder if CO will be nice about using online checkin, and reward the passenger with a future $10 off ticket like NW does, or something similar? Maybe free bag of peanuts? But my guess is that CO doesn't do nice gesture's anymore like that. Other opinions?

You can't expect more "toppings" such as $10 off. I think it would be more along the lines of, you want online checkin, pay CO $10 to avoid the hassle at the airport.

Anyone else wonder if they'll inform the TSA about this, especially in the hub cities. Can hardly wait for the clueless look....

why? an online boarding pass printed through www.nwa.com is accepted by TSA. why wouldn't one by CO (Continental Airlines) be accepted by TSA?
