On-Line Boarding Pass

Effective February 11th, you will be able to print your Continental boarding pass on-line.

but, will you be able to change your seat and select an exit row like you can on www.nwa.com?

now why on earth would you need to do that? EUA actually works on NW, you will already be in first http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I apologise for not being more specific. An article in today's travel section of USA Today alerted me to Continental's new on-line check in policy.

No other details except it starts February 11th.

This would be great if it started now since I have 4 flights on Monday. It is so nice and easy to do it with NWA, I have gotten spoiled and hate to deal with airport check-in whether it be electronic or human.

You can already do that now.
Go to "Manage reservations" and one of the options is "View/Change Seat"

FCTSTY's point is that NW allows elites access to exit row seats, whereas CO has becoming surprisingly strict about assigning Exit Row and Bulkhead seating. Unfortunately, this problem is only getting worse and will probably continue with the online check-in.

I got a lot of faith in USA Today tellin me what CO's gonna do tomorrow. Maybe it's gonna be Feb 11, 2011 http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I wonder if CO will be nice about using online checkin, and reward the passenger with a future $10 off ticket like NW does, or something similar? Maybe free bag of peanuts? But my guess is that CO doesn't do nice gesture's anymore like that. Other opinions?

nyupika Jan 18, 2003 10:32 pm

You can't expect more "toppings" such as $10 off. I think it would be more along the lines of, you want online checkin, pay CO $10 to avoid the hassle at the airport.

This is confirmed, according to a trade mag, CO will allow checkin 12 hous prior starting 'mid-February' Also, they will allow kiosk checkin for international in 'a few months.'

Anyone else wonder if they'll inform the TSA about this, especially in the hub cities. Can hardly wait for the clueless look....

why? an online boarding pass printed through www.nwa.com is accepted by TSA. why wouldn't one by CO (Continental Airlines) be accepted by TSA?
