EUA IS DOWN!!!!

I called because of all the flights I have this week that have not been EUAed despite F5 all over the place.
I was told that EUA has been down since the weekend (and that it was also down Than ksgiving weekend).
I was also told it would be run today. I'm not sure I believe that.
I was also told by the person who I talked to that she could not do it manually since she is on a new system that does not even give her the screen to do it manually I don't believe that either.
I would plan on getting to the airport very early over the next few days.

What difference does it make if they now can't get to the screen to "run it manually" if they never did that for anyone in the first place?!

We've been enhanced again...

Hmmm...interesting. I flew a trip outbound Monday after T'giving, return on Tuesday. I got my upgrade email for the Monday when the Gold window opened, but for Tuesday on Monday morning. So for whatever reason, maybe there is credibility to the fact that the system has been down - and for me, at least, seems to have worked when they brought it back up.

Same for me...I ended up getting EUA emails Sunday evening for a Sunday evening flight. F was only 1/2 full as well.

Geez, this is a horrible system.

For a company whose entire survival depends on whether they have a credible complimentary upgrade system, they are certainly not taking as much care of it as they should.

I was EUAed (a new verb?) last Friday EWR to ATL five days out with e-mail, and this morning MCO to EWR 3 hours out, no e-mail (par for the course on the "dawn patrol" flight).

I suggest writting letter to Larry Kellner, the President. Last time I complained to him, he had Rick Smalley in OP call me an apolpgize for EUA being down. I think Larry cares about his best customers and if he gets enough letters or emails, it might make an impact.
I would guess that his email is: [email protected]
I'm sending mine now.

Letter sent to Larry:
--------------------------------------------
Dear Mr. Kellner:
I am writing to tell you how unhappy I am with the current EUA system. Its been down over the weekend (and was down over Thanksgiving weekend). All my flights this Wednesday and Thursday are showing F5 or F6 and nobody can manually upgrade them. It is an unbelievable mess. I know EUA was "broken" in the past and was advised that its been fixed. Clearly this is not so. It is in stark contrast to the NW EUA system which runs flawlessly!
My wife, Sondra (xxxxxxx) and I each fly over 100k miles a year on CO. The big reason is the upgrades which are supposed to be automatic.Clearly things are NOT under control. Can you thing of any reason why we should not give all our business to Northwest whose system at least works?
Its time to kick some serious ...!
Sincerely,
Ed XXXXX

Dear Mr. XXXXXX -- someone is checking into your flights and should get back to you shortly.

Update: 3 of my 4 remaining flights have now been upgraded.

I had to upgrade LAX-IAH and IAH-EWR manually Saturday night. Despite F9's, EUA did not catch me.

But the rep upgraded me with no hassles.
