What Would You Do?

Muti year platinum...New career, so not much travel in 2002.
Have 20,355 miles.
Would you do a mileage run to get the 4645 to keep Silver at least?
The only thing I ever use miles for, was 10,000 to take F class seats out of the infamous "F Bucket". Way I read program for 2003, is that without silver I couldn't do this any longer.
Comments? Know a nice 4645 mile run?

THANKS
LTR

I would certainly do a mileage run for the 5K miles. Out of IAH look for long-distance destinations where CO competes with WN (SEA and MHT for example). Also, you could do several intra-Texas runs, something along the lines of EFD-IAH-DFW

Travelocity Dream Maps are sometimes very useful for finding a cheap city to fly to for the weekend!

Do the run and keep the silver! You'll thank yourself later when you want to redeem that F seat upgrade and can.

Call the AmericaWest Flightfund service center - ask for a Comp to HP Platinum for next year as a current Platinum on CO. They'll give it to you if you are breathing.

Fly HP next year and enjoy the attitude free airlines and lower prices. But, if you then still want to be CO platinum, call one pass in March and beg their forgiveness for flying HP "so much last year" that you transferred to them and now you regret it. They'll probably comp you back to CO platinum just to spite HP.

The really sad part of this tale is that it's very true that CO would rather give a comp platinum to some other airline's passenger to try to steal them away than they give it to a long time loyal customer who fell short one year.

You've got nothing to loose.

Or you could do a couple of IAH-PHX runs.

God Bless America West and British Airways

HP - Platinum/800k miles
BA - Dirt/Soon to be Silver
UA - Dirt/19k miles
AA - Dirt/Only using to get BA Tier points/miles.

What would you do what?

Oh, would you do a run to maintain status?

I couldn't tell from the Topic title.

and, yes, i would do the run for better flexibility in the use of miles as well as the 25% bonus (even if it isn't used that much).

I would do a run just for the "elite" lines at checkin and security, that would pay for itself!

CO routinely zeroes out all F inventory until just a few hours before each flight.

Its NOT worth it. Just say NO to Continental.

Just say yes to flying CO's 767 to europe in V, but also say yes to earning WP miles for it.

Ok, a little off-topic, but that's why I fly CO at all. That and chase.
