PC Access

Has anybody tried to get into a Newark PC without a boarding pass? Is it allowed or not? I can't seem to get a straight answer from either the PC in terminal A or the toll free TSA number.
Thanks . . .

As far as I understand the new rules at EWR currently apply only to terminal C. That's what the CO announcement about this 2 weeks ago semeed to imply.

Old rules, quite possible.

New rules in Terminal C (which are expected to ultimately be roled out in Term A and elsewhere), no way security will let you past to the PC.

Don't know if there are any exceptions - such as a pass that CO could give you to go to the PC.

Looks like the check-in agts at the PCs will have an easy job from here out.

is government issued photo ID required to get into the PC?

Northwest WC requires government issued ID as well as the Worldclub card because of misuse of the cards (spouses, children, friends using members cards)

If you are a PC member, you don't need a BP to get in to any PC, including EWR (of course, you now need one to get past security there). If you are in BF and are not a PC member, then you will need your BP or ticket/e-ticket.

On the other hand, tell that to the women manning (and I use that word deliberately) the front desks in the EWR PC's. They have to be the nastiest PC staff anywhere in the CO system.

Where most most PC Front Desk personnel say, "Hello, welcome to the club," the lovely ladies in EWR usually scowl and scream "Where are you going?!" This translates to "What in the hell are you doing coming in here!!?" My meek response, "I just want a glass of water. Please don't hurt me."

So I would add a thick skin to the requirements for PC entry in EWR.

Not to my knowledge. Don't recall ever being asked.

I think they would ask for ID if you presented a card with a name that did not sound like it belonged to you (like Mary Smith if you were a man).

This is happening in the Northwest Worldclubs because of people other than the Worldclub member using the Worldclub cards. They told me in LAX that minors are using the cards to come in and they have access to alcoholic beverages (self service at WC) and sometimes spouses enter the club without the WC member who's name is on the card.

It sounds like they are trying to cut back on abuse. HP requires government issued ID and a boarding pass as well as your WC card to enter. I thought the PC's might be doing the same thing.
