Using HHonors points to fly CO
I'd like to hear from anyone with experience using Hilton HHonors Air Rewards to fly on Continental.
I've used HH to fly on other airlines, and this is the basic procedure:
You do this so as to avoid redeeming points before finding out if the airline can accomodate you.
I've been successful with step one on AA, UA, HP, and others, but when I call HH for CO codes, they tell me there aren't any! Of course when I call CO, they say they need the codes.
An example of what I'm looking for: RT domestic with AA you call meeting services at 1-800-433-1790, use ticket designator ICY73, and star file HILUS. It requires a 14 day advance, and N class availability.
Perhaps someone here has redeemed one of these rewards and can rovide the necessary information.
Thanks.

Maybe that is because you can not even redeem ONEPASS miles at a reasonable level!!!

duxfan,
I'm not talking about transferring HHonors Points to OnePass miles. I'm talking about using HHonors points for air travel... something you "always happy's" might consider.
Transfer to HH and still get flights from your converted miles on CO, NW, UA, US, AA, HP, SW ... check out the first link in my first post for more info.

Then perhaps you'd be better off asking this question in the HH forum? I made the error of assuming that you were converting HH points to CO miles. But since you are not, you might want to ask this question over at HH, where people are more familiar with the program? Just a thought....

Germanfflyer,
The HH Air Rewards are governed by a different set of rules, outside of the FF plans. With some airlines, such as HP, they are quite similar to the FF rules. But with other airlines, such as UA (as Eugene pointed out), the rules are completely different, allowing access to a much larger inventory of seats and no fee or penalty for changes.
So I'm trying to get the scoop on CO. Since it appears nobody has "the scoop", I may simply order a cert, study the fine print, and post the info here and in the HH forum. I can always return the cert, as HH also provides no hassle, no fee redeposit of their rewards.
Finally, if you hate OnePass but are reluctant to transfer the miles to HHonors points because you need flights not hotel nights, that was what I was trying to point out above: xfer to HH and you can still fly, and be free from CO! Heck, on AA you can even earn miles on those free HH flights.

FWIW, here are the partner T&C for CO from HH website:
#5 looks dubious. But it does NOT explicitly state that the capacity controls are the same as OnePass capacity controls, which I understand are onerous.
These are brief T&C compared with the detailed T&C posted for some other airlines (see link above).
IME, the only way to get the real scoop is from the codes on the cert, and then give them to a reservationist who will get full details, and if they're nice, will even e-mail or fax them to you.
