Help--does this count as a deposit?

Help--does this count as a deposit?
I hope someone can help me with this:
Due to illness, my mother is not able to fly (and has not been able to for the last couple of years). She currently has more than 100,000 miles in her OP account. However, her account will probably be cancelled como Dec 1st due to such inactivity. Does any of you know if she has a reward issued would that be considered enough so that they do not cancel her account or does it necessarily have to be a deposit?
Also, in case a deposit is absolutely necessary, if she has a reward issued, does not use it and then re-deposits those miles, would that be enough for CO?
Your help will be greatly appreciated as time is running out and we don't want to lose all those miles.

I am sure other FTers will have some suggestions but why not order something inexpensive from a CO partner like Ebags or office max.

Any activity will qualify for keeping your account active. OnePass Dining is a great way for an infrequent flyer to keep his/her account active. OnePass Dining is a free program - - just register your credit card and go eat at a participating restaurant and earn 10 miles per $ spent.

Thanks, I hadn't really thought of that. Just two more questions:
a) If I want to have the miles deposited in her OP account, can I have the purchase charged to my credit card (she no longer has a credit card) or does the name in the credit card necessarily have to be the same as the one on the OP account where the miles are being deposited?
b) Any experience on how long the miles take to post (the site says it takes between 6 or 8 weeks, so I may not be able to get the miles before Dec 1st)?

b: I only have experience with Ebags. After 6 weeks the miles did not post but they cleared it up after one e-mail

You could also switch her phone service to MCI - even a basic plan will suffice - Miles post pretty soon.......or request MCI post miles immediately - (explain the situation)

If she aint able to fly, why keep them there or lose them. Have her join the Hilton Honors program and transfer her soon fading Nonepass(tm) miles into good valid honest Hilton Honors points and she or her kids can stay free etc at a good HH hotel. CO just put out a bulletin to agents stating that CO has no plans to have 18 month inactive accounts' mileage expire on December 1, 2002, or at any other time. The bulletin states the rule is for legal reasons only, and is not the practice.
