hit the EUA brick wall in March...

As a Gold in '01 I was virtually 96% EUA, and then a few airport upgrades... flew in coach once (non-RJ/prop) but that was due to a cancelled flight.

Jan & Feb '02 as a Plat I was 8/8 on CO and 4/4 on NW.

In Mar I am 3/10 on CO for EUA.

- 1 phone-in upgrade
- 2 check-in/P-Club upgrades
- 1 battlefield promotion
- 1 coach flight
- 2 flight segments not taken due to trip cancellation

What the hell just happened? I am convinced that they changed EUA somehow to adjust for fare basis... I work for a small company and have always flown on the lowest possible fare, last year I had no problems and my EUA percentage just went into the toilet...

Do you check ITN before the flights? If so, how many of these flights were of the A9F0 variety at the start of your upgrade window? Those seem to be causing the biggest problems.

I've sat in coach twice on flights with domestic F this year while I was 100% on upgrades for the previous 15 months. Neither of these were EUA related (1 was sold out in F a week before the flight and the other was due to an improperly canceled itinerary), but my concern is growing as well. Really, if I can't sit in F consistently, I might as well go for MRTC.

I check ITN religiously. I have been monitoring all of my flights very closely. Not all of my flights have been A9 F0, but certainly A# F0.

In Mar I have:
1) been seated next to a Silver that got the EUA*
2) seen EUA run at 3hrs before the flight [A5 F0 to A1 F1], but skip over me. Arrived at the airport yesterday after EUA ran and was able to snag the last FC seat. I watched boarding passes on line to board and saw at least (1) Silver [Yes, it could have been Y-fare].

I have (8) HP segments in the next few weeks, so I'll see if the grass is greener over there...

* editted to state that this was my battlefield promotion. I didn't get the EUA upgrade, but a Silver did, then I was called up to sit next to him.

As both a CO and NW Plat, I have to wonder coz I NEVER hear of EUA problems over at NW. Since they are basically the same type of system.... what gives? This is one reason I'm working on re-qualifying Plat on NW and giving up on CO. FWIW, NW has some kick-a$$ bonuses coming up...
