How EUA SHOULD work....

Have to go to Chicago for the day next week, leaving in the morning, out at night.

EWR-MDW (735s both ways) and thanks to American Trans Air (ATA) my fare was only $175 R/T! (Also, I only booked it last Friday)

I am plat and I was EUA'd on BOTH flights! What makes this interesting is that on the 735 there are only 10 seats. Well on the outbound FC is FULL!!! Which means no one from Rev Mgt. held back any seats for last minute Y or A people.

So either they were asleep at the switch or maybe they are now letting the F seats happen normally because today is the last day of all 2001 Elite members. So the Elite pool is now smaller because anyone who did not make Elite is now no longer getting benefits.

Just a theory...

Anyone else with a theory?

They figured that if you have to fly into MDW, the least they can do is put you in FC And seeing as how they're losing their a$$ on the whole flight, what's a few FC seats amongst friends...

I fly into CHI around every 6 - 8 weeks. More often than not I purchase 14 days in advance and can get into ORD for ~$300. I usually travel to the North of ORD so MDW is a *huge* hassle, especially the traffic on 94/294.

I think that fare is a 3-day advance requirement (T/W/Sat) and I know that it has not always been that way. I've had to fly on TZ a couple of times and ugghhh... what a p.o.s. airline that is.

I very much prefer ORD and the P-Club/WC, but on short notice I would certainly fly on CO to MDW... sure as hell beats TZ to MDW

PS they fly the 735s to ORD also, and ATL, and DCA

Careful what you complain about... You may get "enhanced" to an ERJ!

It's easier to control 35 or 50 people who can't wait to pee on a flight to DCA than a "Big Ole 737" full....

I've had 100% success rate with EUA's and MDW--it is one of the reasons I choose it over ORD. (That and the fact that fares are much cheaper, and its only a 20 minute ride on the Orange Line to the LOOP)
