which ff program should I use
Here's my dilema. I am flying to NRT tomorrow on Continental. My problem is which ff program I should put the miles on. Here is my situation. I am currently gold on AWA with 0 miles, I do not have a onepass account and I have 10k miles on NWA(non-elite). Which program would you use?

It entirely depends on who you plan to travel on in the future and how you'd like to use your miles. Explore the sites and you'll have to decide for yourself.
FWIW, you can establish a Onepass account immediately on their web site (knock on wood) and your NRT RT would add enough miles to be the biggest of your accounts.
Cheers.

although I think that the "Hampton Roads" area of VA is probably not served very well by HP, my personal vote would be for them...
By nature of your Gold status on HP, you will get a 100% mileage bonus (effectively double miles). Mileage from NRT to the US is sizeable. You can use those miles for travel on HP, CO and NW.
Even putting the miles into NW will not "top-off" a level equivalent to a reward ticket. If you have other travel plans w/in the coming months, that might be a strategy you might want to consider.
FYI HP = America West (AWA)

I would use America West, because you would get Preffered Seating because of your Gold Status.
