HOUSTON, July 31, 2001 - Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) expanded its competitive summer and fall fare sale to include international routes to Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, Latin America and Asia/Pacific. In addition, customers may enjoy added savings of up to 10 percent when fare sale tickets are purchased at continental.com.
Continental previously announced sale fares on its domestic routes, including Alaska and Hawaii, plus Canada.

Tickets must be purchased by August 6, seats are limited and other restrictions may apply.
- Tickets to U.S. and Canadian destinations require 14-day advance purchase, tickets must be purchased within 24 hours of reservation, and travel must be completed by December 16, 2001.
- Travel to Europe must commence prior to December 9, for travel between September 7 and December 13, 2001. Tickets must be purchased within 72 hours of making reservations.
- Sale fares to Mexico and the Caribbean must be purchased at least seven days prior to departure and within 72 hours of reservations. Travel must be completed by December 13, 2001.
- Sale fares to Latin America require a three-day advance purchase and within 72 hours of making reservations. Valid for travel through December 13, 2001
- Tickets to Asia/Pacific are valid for travel between September 9 and December 8, 2001, and must be purchased within 72 hours of making reservations.
RESTRICTIONS: Fares are only valid for origin and destination indicated. Round-trip purchase is required. All fares are subject to availability and may change without notice. Passenger facility charges up to $18, depending upon routing, are not included. Some service via ExpressJet Airlines, Inc. d/b/a Continental Express. U.S.: Fares are valid for travel noon Monday-noon Thursday, and noon Saturday-midnight Saturday only. Sale fares are higher for travel on other days. Fares require a Saturday night stay, and have a maximum stay of 30 days. Blackout dates of 11/21/01, 11/25/01, and 11/26/01 apply. Tickets are nonrefundable but may be changed for a $100 fee plus applicable fare difference. Fares do not include $2.75 per segment excise tax. A segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. EUROPE TRAVEL: Fares are valid for travel Monday-Thursday only. Fares require a Saturday night stay and have a maximum stay of 30 days. Tickets are nonrefundable but may be changed on the return portion only for a $150 fee plus applicable fare difference. International taxes and fees up to $88 are not included. Continental flight numbers 80-85 to/from Paris are code-share service operated by Air France. LATIN AMERICA TRAVEL: Fares require a minimum stay of 3 days and have a maximum stay of 30 days. Tickets are nonrefundable but may be changed for a $100 fee plus applicable fare difference. International taxes and fees up to $98 are not included.
