EasyPass Rewards
I'm booking a flight with standard award availability on the outgoing flight and easypass reward availability on the return flight. If standard award becomes available for the return flight before I fly can I get the difference in points redeposited to my onepass account?

I can guarantee you that won't automatically happen. You will need to request it through CO, but yes, with any award ticket, you can deposit the miles back into your account for a fee ($35?) and reissue. I'd personally hold a new reservation (in other words, standard award availability is indeed available for your outbound and inbound flights), and then go about cancelling your ticketed one and rebook the new one.

Not only that, but by booking an EasyPass seat on the flight, you slightly reduce the likelihood of a Standard reward opening up.

My suggestion would be to book an alternate routing with standard availability (check the partners), and waitlist the CO segment you want.

Worst case, you fly as ticketed. Best case, you clear the waitlist. In either caes, you don't pay a change fee.

CO will allow you to hold a reward reservation for up to 10 working days before ticketing, so go ahead and reserve it and call back to see. I did an Easy Pass, held it, called back the next day (the reservation agent told me to wait 5 days...) and got the whole thing on Standard. I suggest printing out a list of the Sky Team partners, and a list of possible routes to your destination. Not that the CO folks are trying to jack you, but a friendly reminder to check other airlines and/or routes could save you a lot of miles....saved me 100k!
