Strategy needed for equivalent united program
Hi I am a gold member ..soon to be plat. I would like to obtain the united quivalent. has anyone done this and if so, who do I call?

UA will only comp PremEx (their 2nd tier), but they won't comp their top level (PremEx 1K). If you're already 2nd tier (Gold Elite) CO, that's as high as they will comp. So forget Plat, and call UA and ask them for a comp to PremEx (their 2nd tier). You'll have it in a couple of days.

What about the other way round? I am curently a premier executive with United and what would continental offer, and how do i get about it?

Even easier! And unlike most airlines, CO will comp their top level, Platinum Elite. Most airlines, including UA, will only comp to their second tier.
So, if you are PremEx, they'll comp you Gold Elite. If you are PremEx 1K, they'll comp you Platinum Elite. Just give them a call, and mail or fax a copy of your latest mileage statement, and you should have it in a couple of days.
Bear in mind, however, that this is a once in a lifetime comp, and you will have to qualify with actual miles next year.
