Ultimately, I basically agree with you that both NW/CO will serve me well. As a mostly domestic flyer out of DCA, it seems that the scale tips to NW for the time being. I orginally discovered CO as a NYC resident and if I was still in NY I would probably stick with them because of the great schedule opportunities out of EWR with the option LGA as well.
I believe the best vote we have with a company like CO is with our $'s. For me right now, and of course things could change, NW is a better match: more FC seats out of my primary airport, better schedules (I like the later night options into DC from DTW and MSP), shorter routes to many locations, fewer RJ's (or at least shorter RJ routes), and better EQM situation (some of my business travel in booked through travel agencies).
So you can see my choice is based on sound reasoning not just emotional responsne to various changes CO has made. But CO should understand that their decision making has contributed to my decision. And for the record, I have always bascially been happy (with the exception of an occasiional cranky CO employee) with customer service.
