Elite Seating on HP?

As a Platinum on CO, should I be getting elite seating on America West flights? I know that they dramatically eliminated most upgrades, but an aisle seat would be nice.

You bet! Preferred coach seating on America West flights is listed in the 2000 OnePass Elite Members Guide. Now if they can Just keep from cancelling or delaying their flights due to mechanical problems.

What is the procedure for getting the seating? I tried on HP, but they said they had no way of verifying my elite status.

Are we supposed to call the CO "upgrade" line?

The procedure? The Continental elite line won't help you, so call HP reservations. When the agent says that he/she can't/won't do it ask for a supervisor, who will put you on hold during a call to CO to verify your elite status. If the agent you get tries to tell you that all of the elite seats are occupied it's because they are too lazy to take the time. Hang up and call again, be persistent, good luck!
