making the switch to co
i decided to switch from wp to op for next year. assuming that they comp status, i'm also planning on switching credit card and lounge.
as long as i'm doing the work, i figure i'll get miles for it.
what are the current top promos for:
1) getting the CO visa - anything better than the 6k for platinum? anything with a fee waiver?
2) any bonuses for signing up for pc?

Rocky,
If you have not already done so, call CO and buy a Prestige Pack for $99. Inside you will get:
6 segment FC upgrades
2 PC lounge passes
1 $99 companion ticket voucher
1 $75 off (waived initiation fee) for the PC
... and many other airline, hotel, and car rental goodies like discounts, free magazines, class upgrades, memberships, etc.
Enjoy!

Thanks, but I've been a OnePass member for a while. (Account has been dormant for a long time, but a member since 94.)

As you probably know, I've done the switch from WP.
You may want to stay with WorldClubs or sign on again with them, as there may be a bonus with WClubs and not PClub. Reciprocity is virtually seamless (unlike the fflyer programs). I know that WClubs did have a 2.5k sign on through 12/31 and PClub, nothing. May want to double check.
Go for the Executive or Prestige Pack. OP gave it to my wife although her account was dormant since 94 as well. Otherwise, start afresh.
Chase has the perennial 4k/6k reg/plat card offer.
MCI 25k for CO. See MCI thread.

Check the posting I did last Fall. You can still buy the Prestiage package even after the "1-year" limit. IT is a GREAT Value

what are the restrictions on the prestige pack fc upgrades? are these of any value to a gold elite?
also, what is the difference between the exec and prestige pack?

Rocky:
The restrictions for the upgrade certificates with the Prestige/Executive packs include: You can't transfer them to anybody else. They're only good for 1 year. They're not confirmable, IE, you can only get upgraded at the counter or gate. You're at the bottom of the list for available upgrades after all OnePass elites.
The difference between the 2 packs is price and number of upgrade certificates. I believe the lower-priced pack only has 4 upgrade certificates while the $99 pack has 6. Go with the $99 pack. It more than pays for itself

Bonus Miles on Prestige pack = 7,500 miles, Exec only 5,000 miles. @$0.02 each they extra miles are worth $50.00 themselves.
Minor corrections about Upgrade certificates, they are transferable to anyone travelling with you. Good for travelling companions who are not elites.
