"Beating" The midnight upgrade game
Last night I used a nifty, at least I think its nifty. Checked ITN at 9pm and found 5 F seats available.
I didn't want to stay up till midnight, so I had my nephew call. I left him all the necessary details.
Wake up this morning and find I have seat 3F, window non bulkhead. I'm happy.

It's the way the computerized yield management system works, seats are shifted from A to F class after they figure there is no chance of selling them, it can happen at any time, so it doesn't hurt to call back from time to time to check for availability for upgrades.

NJDavid: Ah, that explains it. I thought the jury duty session in San Francisco Superior Court was a bit strange...it must have been a bad dream.
Or were you over at "It's a Small World"?
