"Beating" The midnight upgrade game
Last night I used a nifty, at least I think its nifty. Checked ITN at 9pm and found 5 F seats available.
I didn't want to stay up till midnight, so I had my nephew call. I left him all the necessary details. Wake up this morning and find I have seat 3F, window non bulkhead. I'm happy. |
Oh wow! Great Idea for a business!

I'll ask my nephew what his rates would be forthe rest of you http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
Hey, I'm out here on the left coast! How much is that call worth to you? http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

It's the way the computerized yield management system works, seats are shifted from A to F class after they figure there is no chance of selling them, it can happen at any time, so it doesn't hurt to call back from time to time to check for availability for upgrades. |
Actually, Dgolds must be lying, cause I just bumped into him in Orlando at noon today. http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

NJDavid: Ah, that explains it. I thought the jury duty session in San Francisco Superior Court was a bit strange...it must have been a bad dream.
Or were you over at "It's a Small World"? http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif [This message has been edited by dgolds (edited 09-02-1999).] |
