Well, I called this morning and got my rate quote... The rate that they quoted me was 31% higher than my current provider! Unbelievable!

Anyways, they claim that I will still be getting the 500 one-pass bonus miles for taking the time to get the quote.

For all of us here, was it worth the time to get 500 miles?
You betcha. I got the miles and a quote that's $200 per year less than I am paying.

MileKing: Thank you very much for posting the original message.

Steve100,

I have some land in South Florida that I would like to show you at low tide. You get 10 million miles for looking.

For all of us here, was it worth the time to get 500 miles?

Jaws_II - Well, yes, it was worth it to me. I know, 500 miles is not worth that much, but if it could of lowered my insurance, then it would of been worth it.

Every 2 to 3 years, I double check that my current provider is the lowest. But for me, in this case, it turns out that "The Hartford" was much more money, but it gave me a sanity check on my current provider, and I got 500 miles to boot.

It looks as though dgolds got a lower insurance rate as well!

p.s. - I'm ready whenever you are to take a look at the S. Florida land - heck, 10million miles is at stake!

That's a great deal, dgolds! Glad it helped you out.

Jaws_II, I'm on the next flight to Florida to check out the land you have. Looking forward to the 10 million bonus miles!

Here in the Peoples' Republic of Massachusetts, where the state mandates auto rates (which guarantees an increase each year, thus making us #2 in highest premiums in the US), Hartford is one of many companies which won't do business here.

They still promised to give me the miles, though.

well, if the peoples republic of massachussetts has the #2 highest car insurance rates......then the olde king's grant of south carolina must be "numero uno".

hartford insco said they would get back to me without any promise of a 500 mile bonus.

yea rite

Well, you guys peaked my curiosity on which state had the highest Automobile Insurance rates. I found a ranking/listing on Insure.com (which is an Consumer Insurance Guide)....

Drum roll please.. According to it, New Jersey has the highest rates in the country - so, congradulations Tute84! #2 was Washington DC, and #3 was NY. Iowa has the cheapest in the country. (Massachusetts ranks 14th and S. Carolina at 25th.)

see: http://www.insure.com/auto/rates.html

well, dad burn'dit.........

and we (south carolina) just removed half of our state legislature last november because we thought we had the highest car ins rates and they wouldn't lower it.

oh well..................oops!

steve100........what state has the cheapest?
i might move there.
